Salted Caramel
Description

The 888 blend takes its name from a number symbolizing prosperity and good fortune in many Asian cultures. We think it's a fitting tribute to the transformation of coffee farming happening in Papua New Guinea.

This lot comes from smallholder farmers working with Kindeng Estate along the Lamari River, where 0.25 to 4-hectare plots sit between 1,700 and 2,000 meters above sea level. They're growing heirloom varieties like Arusha, Blue Mountain, Bourbon, and Typica. Classic cultivars that thrive at this altitude.

The remarkable quality here didn't happen overnight. It's the result of extensive work with producer groups, focusing on the fundamentals: improved picking, pulping, sorting, fermentation, and drying - supported by ongoing extension services from the importer, Sucafina.

This Papua New Guinea coffee is versatile and works as a standalone. It shines on both espresso and filter, and reminds us of toffee, chocolate, lots of salted caramel.

It’s the kind of cup that feels warm, strong, steady, and maybe a little lucky too.

250g bag, roasted in Toronto. Orders placed by Sunday 11:59pm EST ship within 2-5 business days.
