In Toronto, we run The Roasters Pack Lab: a reservation-only, 8-seat cafe where we pour the rarest coffees we can get our hands on, including the competition lots you almost never see on a menu.
At the lab, seats sell out fast, and people plan trips around reserving a spot. That got us thinking about how we can bring the experience to your home.
We watch the world's best baristas compete on the world stage every year, but you never get the chance to actually taste what they brewed. This calendar is that chance.
With two doses per coffee, you'll brew coffees from the roasters and producers who are at the highest level, learn why they're outstanding, and brew with detailed recipes to experience what competition level coffees are like.
Every coffee is hand-selected by our team. We focus on quality, origin transparency, and roasters who care deeply about craft.

12 coffees from 12 incredible specialty coffee roasters from around the world. We’ve put in a lot of effort to curate a unique lineup of coffees to showcase a wide range of origins, varietals, and processing methods. There will be every detail about the coffees, as well as explanations on why these coffees are the best of specialty coffee.
The coffees will be roasted between mid October and early November to be well rested when you receive them. We find that coffees at the rare and competition level may peak at different times, and many of them really shine somewhere between 20 to 90 days.
All the coffees will be roasted light to showcase the unique characteristics and qualities of the origin and varietals, the producers’ hard work, and each roasters’ expression of the particular coffee. Coffee will be packaged in resealable bags with a one-way valve.
You can brew these coffees however you’d normally brew your coffees, and we’ll also include extensive brewing tips and a recipe to help you dial in each coffee to perfection. Our journal will include all brewing information from dripper type, to paper filters, grind size, water composition, temperature, as well as a step-by-step brewing recipe.
The coffee is roasted by some of the best coffee roasters in the world. At The Roasters Pack, we put in a lot of effort every single month to find the top coffees available for you to try, and for our Rare & Competition Coffee Advent Calendar, we’ve sourced these coffees to showcase producers, roasters, and why these coffees are so special.
The coffees in this advent calendar are sourced via the specialty market which is traceable with premiums paid that are often significantly higher than that of a Fair Trade and commodity transaction. At this caliber of coffee, the coffees often are relationship coffees, directly brought in from producers’ farms to the roastery.
All of our coffees come in whole bean. We believe that grinding fresh before brewing is the best way to preserve the unique characteristics and high quality of each coffee that we carefully source.
All of the coffees in our advent calendar are 100% coffee beans. They do not contain anything else, such as gluten, dairy, or flavouring agents. The only ingredient is coffee!
No, your order will not be impacted by US tariffs. We are shipping using a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) service and the products are CUSMA exempt. You should not see any additional tariff or duty charges. That being said, the tariff situation is evolving rapidly, and it seems like not all couriers or customs brokers are on the same page. What will happen next? Who knows. In the meantime, we just want to enjoy a good cup of coffee (and we want you to enjoy one as well!)
Yes! We love building advents for teams and clients. Reach out at our contact us page and we’ll be more than happy to support!

25 days of coffee from the best Canadian specialty roasters
12 vibrant and unique matchas for December
"After trying a coffee from a specialty roaster, I was blown away by the depth of flavour. I wanted to learn more. But, surprisingly, it's really tough to explore new coffee and new roasters. That's the problem we set out to fix.
First we started with coffee subscriptions back in 2014. But a few years ago, we dove into building advent calendars. This year we wanted to go further and put together a showcase of the best of the best — twelve coffees from twelve of the world's top roasters, featuring rare varietals like Gesha, auction lots, and the coffees that show up on the world competition stage.
This is the most ambitious box we've ever put together. We can't wait to share it with you."
