Alexander Vargas began his journey at just 15 years old. By age 20, he had fully dedicated his career to specialty coffee. Today, with over two decades of experience, Alexander uses his expertise at La Piragua farm to experiment with rare varieties and advanced processing. His meticulous approach to anaerobic fermentation has earned him widespread recognition, including multiple national Cup of Excellence nominations.
For this exceptional lot, Vargas grew a rare Red Striped Bourbon, finishing it with a classic natural fermentation. In the cup you can expect blackberry, pomegranate, and molasses, with big fruit up front and a long, syrupy finish.
