Velvet Sunrise
Velvet Sunrise started with a single cup of home-roasted coffee that changed everything for Mark Hayward, a civil engineer at the time. For twelve years, Mark roasted beans under his kitchen exhaust hood every Saturday morning before finally taking the leap. In 2008 (yes, twelve years of Saturday roasting), he and his wife Lisa opened a roastery and café in Stouffville, Ontario. They ethically source from around the world and supply cafés from Port Perry to Hamilton.
