An espresso martini is a perfect drink for an early evening caffeine fix. We’ve put together a delicious recipe that’s not too sweet so the taste of the coffee still shines through. Our version uses a cold brew concentrate instead of espresso so that everyone can pull this off easily at home, even without an espresso machine. If you do have an espresso machine, just swap the cold brew concentrate for a double shot of espresso.

COLD BREW CONCENTRATE

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 100g of coarsely ground coffee.

• 900g of filtered water.

• A jar with a lid.

• A V60 and a paper filter.

HOW TO MAKE IT

1. Grind the coffee coarsely and pour it in the jar.

2. Pour the filtered water into the jar. Put the lid on the jar and give the mixture a spin/shake to ensure all of the grinds are in contact with the water.

3. Put the jar in the fridge for 16-24 hours.

4. After the 16-24 hour brew time, prepare your V60 cone and wet the filter to remove any paper taste. Then, without agitating the slurry too much, gently pour the slurry through a V60 into a carafe or second jar to filter out the grinds.
