This espresso is bursting with fruity cherry notes. We asked Seth Taylor, Owner of Seth Taylor: Coffee by Design what iced coffee recipe he would suggest to help showcase these notes.

“I think this espresso combines really well with milk. I love the big fruity notes mixed with milk. I think it’s delicious in a simple iced latte. It has a little bit of a maraschino cherry vibe, so any beverage that leans into that will be great. The milk adds a little something extra to it. I like the shot pulled a little shorter, but even an 8- or 10-oz cup would work with a double shot,” Taylor explained.

We think nothing can beat a simple iced latte, but here is a recipe that uses a dash of Amaretto to jazz it up. The cherry flavour in the liqueur complements the cherry in the coffee, and the subtle almond and vanilla notes add lovely sweetness.

What you need:

  1. Espresso, 2 ounces
  2. Amaretto, 2 ounces
  3. A glass
  4. Ice
  5. Milk or alternative milk of your choice.

What you do:

  1. Pour milk and ice into the glass
  2. Pull a double shot of espresso.
  3. Pour the espresso over the ice and milk.
  4. Pour the 2 ounces of Amaretto over the ice, milk and espresso.
  5. Stir and enjoy!
